We all know that the current pope was in the Hitler Youth. Is this the fact that you are attempting to highlight?

The current pope was a member of the Hitler Youth as it was compulsory, he didn't have a choice. Apparently he refused to attend meetings and was an unenthusiastic member. Some of his cousins who had Downs Syndrome were murdered by the Nazis so somehow I don't think he supprted them that much and just did what was necessary to stay alive! I'm not Catholic but cannot condemn him for doing something which was compulsory, on Wikipedia it says that his family didn't support the Nazis as they felt it conflicted with their faith and beliefs.

Apart from the pope? I've never asked any... but everyone born in Germany of a certain age would have been in the Hitler Youth because it was compulsary.

Your question, I suspect, asks if the pope still sympathises with the ideals of the nazis. I don't know, but if he did, he'd keep it very close to his chest. As far as I know, he hasn't done anything particularly noteworthy since gaining the top job -- no pograms or death camps. There has never been any love lost between catholics and jews. As long as they both keep to their sides of the fence, all will be well.

He was young and impressionable and loved me in shorts with little moustaches...nothings changed then...most of the catholic church still does....
