I think you might want to ask if can people be spiritual and racist. There the answer is NO. No spiritualist, good human being can possibly be a racist to the best of my imagination.
BUT, most religious people are racists. In fact they are almost indistinguishable. They take being religious as a passport for being racists. If you put hard core racism aside, dont the daily off the cuff remarks on someone only because they are from a different community or religion upset you? They definitely upset me. So much so, that some of my friends have got angry with me a couple of times because I stand up against all kinds of racist remarks.

those racist who call themselves religious are diseased dogs calling themselves gods. how can a religious person who preaches love and truthfulness hate somebody because he has a different color. that's crazy! whatever happened in the past happened for a reason, one cannot go around hankering over the past and keep hating somebody of his color. racist people like the KKK are a bunch of losers who have no aim in life just wanna find some reason feel important. Racists are basically the fag end of mankind whereas the truly religious people are blessed. being religious does not mean just readng the bible or attending the sunday mass. there is more to it.
racists are the scum s h i t of the universe!

A quick comment to someone who said republicans only like white people. First off, this has nothing to do with the question, and second, have you ever heard of Alan Keyes or Michael Steele? These are two great conservative republicans who I admire a lot and incidentally, they are both black.
As far as the question goes, I think anyone can be racist because no matter how religious you are you can still do wrong things. Just try to see people how God created them. He is no respecter of persons, and to me this means He doesn't care if you're rich, poor, smart, dumb, black, or white. He created us all and He loves us equally. To Him, there's only one race: the Human race.

I'm not racist, but yes and I will explain
There are parts in the Bible that justify things like slavery and such. Yes, there are parts in the Bible that justify racism. Remember even the KKK use the Bible to justify thier actions. I don't remember exact scriptures, but let me tell you another thing the Bible justifies: selling your kids and prostitution.
See the truth is you can make the Bible say whatever you want it to say. I mean it's crazy that both Christians and at least half of real Satists use the same Bible.
It's because of these facts I don't believe in the Bible.

Brother, I believe people can call themselves religious, or Christian, or whatever they want to -- and still be racist, murderers, thieves and liars.
But anyone who honestly believes that God is our Father and we are his children, must accept that we are all brothers and sisters -- all equal -- and such a belief would make racism ridiculous!
So -- do we believe what people say (and call themselves) or how they act? I've always thought that actions speak louder than words.

Whenever the kkk did there evil work. They symbolized this with the burning cross.Nor did they hide who they were, the wearing of the hood was a protection from prosecution, because they knew what they were doing was against the law, But not god's law. they were his avenging angels If you were'nt a WASP you did'nt count so far as the clan was concerned

In a way, I believe religion spawns racism. But definitely varying forms of hate, or dislike to anything apart from their belief. Instead of "live and let live". It's more like "my way or the highway". Which is why I'm glad I'm not religious...thank Darwin

Dont confuse being a Christian with being religious. Christians should love all races.
John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
I did not see any conditions to that scripture.

Of course they can be. Have you seen cults? Didn't you know that most early KKK members were religious? That's why they did all that bad ****. They thought they were doing it for God. That they are the choosen ones and they must cleanse the Earth of whoever they deem unworthy, unpure and basically not like them, or some crap like that.
