If you are intending to return to work straight after your maternity leave then yes you will have to pay for the nursery - you may be able to claim WFTC which will help with the nursery fees.

Once the child is 3 years old it is entitled to 5 half day sessions at a play school free.

Your employer must give you maternity leave (with pay) for the duration of your pregnancy and a short time after the birth. Once you return to work and place your child in a nursery you will have to pay BUT if you approach the WFTC (working families tax credits) you will get approx 75% of the price back (this is called the Working Families Child Credit). You will also be eligable for Working Families Tax Credit (the amount depends on how much you earn). You will also get child benefit. Whilst pregnant you should also get milk tokens (1 pint a day during pregnancy and then 1 pint a day after the child is born).
Hope all goes well.

only if you go for a private nursery but not if you go for a state nursery check with your local council for state nurserys in your area also look at other childcare options such as childminders you have to pay but its worth it as your child will get more one on one attention which in turn helps with their development of social and language skills hope this helps

No you need to go back to where you come from. We can hardly cram our own little dears into nursery cus of so many imigrants so you'd be happier somewhere else.

If you have no job you obviously have the time to look after the child yourself.

Primary education onwards is free of charge. Nusery schools have to be paid for.
