I'm a linguist and I can assure you that Classical Hebrew is not the mother of the most of the languages spoken todat. This assumes 1) that there was no language before Classical Hebrew and 2) that all languages would be Semitic languages.
German and Yiddish are two West-Germanic languages, part of the Indo-European languages. Same goes for Farsi (Persian language) and Pushto: those two are Indo-European as well.
FYI, Japanese, Korean, and Basque are often calles language isolates because linguists cannot satisfyingly relate those three language to any language family. They certainly are not related to Hebrew or any Semitic language.
I'm afriad to tell you that you are not right in believing your statement given above.
I suggest you read up linguistic literature on language families. I would also like to suggest that you consider the reality that there have been languages before the tribe of Abraham.

I believe that too but, not really canvassed. I believe that Hebrew is just another direct of original Mather African language. (the original Egyptian direct) Start from north to east Africa on the original Egyptian in the land of Cushiti Sudan in which today we call it Ethiopia and maybe the land of Eden. Since we don't know for sure where the land of Eden locate in this world but only theory, we can figure it out by finding evidence of old bones and studying them in duration. So far we found more the oldest in East Africa. We do have some skeptical evidence though in the Middle east but, no one is canvessed to believe it. Remember, the testaments were rewritten in Hebrew by the roman empire. So, whatever the language was there first is the direct descendants of hebrew and all the other neighbors. So, you don't wanna believe too much of what was written inside because everything was written in there own ideology of taking control and also many things were changed. Just like the bible. You probably think god is white or Jesus is white huh?

Wow, thank you all for those quality answers (and thanks to the question)! Indeed Sanskrit is believed to be the oldest spoken language today; more than 200.000 people use it everyday.
But beware of other answers that have flown through other parts of this website : I have seen that some people quote "oriented" books to impose the fact that Hebrew or Aramaic could be the answer. It is simply not true, it is very ethnocentric, and i would say that those affirmations are a will to orientate the truth, deform history and it is dangerous. There are too many sources on the Net about that anyway, you do not need to rely on something that sounds more like religious propaganda than historical fact.
PS : for those who wish to say something fancy to their loved one in Sanskrit, just try this (in phonetics) : mehr toom say mahabatt Karta hum...:)

If we read the Bible in Genesis 11, the whole earth was of one language and of one speech, therefore there is only one language at that time which was the mother of all languages of the world today, if we read further GOD confound their language that they may not understand each other, God change thier language to a diifferent language that they well not understand each other so they scattered aboard upon the face of all the earth. But it was not said what language was spoken during that time on the place called Babel which was located in modern day Iraq of Babylon. So another question arises "What was the one language of the people during the time of Adam to Noah to Nimrod??

Pretty far off- You are not taking into account that Sanskrit exists. Sanskrit is the mother of Hindi and its 244 dialects + Punjab which is the only Hindi dialect togain language status thus far, Urdu the language that Muslims use, Bengali,Latin which inspired the European languages. All those languages and their dialects. That is most of what the world speaks. Sanskrit is derived from Prakrit, and the two have very similar qualities.
