Oracle was the first commercial relational database management system. Prior to oracle, computer data was stored and retrieved much like physical files are, by sorted location within a file. Database software used indexes to locate data, and the more advanced databases, called 'network' databases, created shared indexes, so that data could be retrieved from more than one file in the same request.
Oracle stores data simply in no particular order and uses sophisticated algorithms to retrieve, connect and combine data from any of the tables by any field the query writer wants to use.
The complexity is in the software and not in the data arrangement.
All major databases are relational now.
Oracle's expansion of the features of it's databases has been phenomenal over the years, and has kept them in the front of the pack. Their databases can be expanded to phenomenal size, can be configured for no-loss stability, and interface with cutting-edge software.
I have worked with Oracle for 21 years, and have managed tiny databases that stayed running without any maintenance downtime for years, and large multi-national databases that pump HUGE volumes of data in every hour.
I read recently that Oracle has lowered pricing at the low end, so it may be competitive for mid-range databases now, too. Oracle provides much information online.

Oracle is the most powerful DBMS (database managment system) in the world, its used to build, fill, observe, and maintain databases

Its used when the elements of the database are more than 100,000 element, for example, a university with 200,000 student will use it, but ull not use for makin ur father a database for his small home library

By the way its very expensive, it can cost from 10,000 $ up to 2.5 million dollar with all the utilities, and for large number of users at the same time

If u want to learn something easy and fast for databases, go for MS Access

oracle is a database, using oracle we can store the information in it (in the form of table) for feature use, as well as we can modify the data and update the data.
