You need to things two have that line. One, is a well developed lower and UPPER chest. Many people (including myself, before I learned more about lifting) neglect their upper chest. Add some incline pressing or flies to work your upper chest. I prefer presses because they are compound movements and work more muscles but flies will more directly work your chest muscles.

The second thing you need is a low body fat percentage. The more fat you have the harder it will be to see the definition in the muscle you're looking for.

If you're looking for striations I'm pretty sure that all revolves around a high protein low carb diet. Some people naturally have that. It's genetic, for instance Native American Indians are shaped that way by nature. However, if you're not then you'll have to re think your diet. You may also need to eat more than four times per day. Have you talked to any of the trainers at your health club? I'm sure they could give you some useful tips!

Sit ups or crunches work out your mid-section. You also might want to try swimming as it is a total body workout.

do the butterfly exercise machine. if youre using dumbbells lie down on bench, extend arms to side (arms no lower than shoulder height), then lift weight keeping your arms slightly bent.
