Ignore Bud - where DO they dig 'em up from???

Found a list of free sites 4 you.

http://www.mylanguageexchange.com/Learn/Farsi.asp - this lets you talki to a Persian in Persian in exchange for helping him with his English.

http://www.farsinet.com/farsi/ Nice, gentle, scholarly website with free lessons and loads of interesting stuff about the country, including a good map and clickable resources down the bottom of the page.

http://www.farsinet.com/farsi/alefba/ A site to teach children Farsi but hey - if it works for a child, it should work for an adult, right? I mean, they're just starting simple - and if you're studying another language, why not 'start simple'? One thing, the front page is all graphics and is a download killer if you're on dial-up - I had time to make myself a cup of tea before the graphics finished and I'm on Broadband!

http://babel.uoregon.edu/YLC/selfstudy/farsi_lang.html Excellent looking site. Links to the mylanguagexchange site, but LOADS of good looking lessons, dictionaries, nice, clear layout of pages, U could learn how to design a website from this site, never mind the language!

http://www.ectaco.co.uk/English-Persian(Farsi)-Dictionary/

http://www.yourdictionary.com/languages/indoiran.html

The above links are just different Farsi dictionaries - some dictionaries always have words that are missing from others, whatever the language, thought I'd bung in a couple here.

http://www.ethnicharvest.org/bibles/farsi.html

And that's the Bible in Farsi. Could be interesting, Farsi's much closer to the original language the Bible was written in than English. When you get the hang of reading Farsi, it would be interesting to see how it 'read' in Farsi as opposed to the translated versions (I STILL love the King James version best - the New World version's been given a complete prefrontal lobotomy.)

Noticed on Preview that all the sites had been made clickable (nice one, Yahoo.)

I have got a GREAT site for you. It is really helpful for starters and unlike some other sites, it teaches a LOT of Persian (Farsi).
