I was growing taught up to close doors quietly so as not to disturb the peace and tranquility in the house. In the convent where I went to school they had the same rule about closing the door quietly. Why do people bang doors in the world? It leaves me angry, annoyed and cussing.i feel so bitter and disrespected.that I do not want to greet or talk to the person who does that after that.....Which is worse? If a family member does it or a visitor? What are they trying to prove? That they can be aggressive, that they can be noisy if they want to,or that they have the power to break the door or what?I would love to know your views on this horrible habit please.

my neighbour has to slam and bang his door several times when he goes out and comes in,and he is in and out 24/7 at all hours wakes me regularly,so he woke me one night and i flipped legged it down stairs and spoke to him,i was swearing and shouting, then another neighbour came out and backed me up as well as they were peed off with it aswell,he basically said it aint my problem go and see his landlord.so i wrote the landlord a letter and he replied with "if i dont like it move out".
i didnt pay £140k to have a tosser slammin his door,so from now on every time he does it i jump up and down as i am above him,and walk round my flat stamping my feet as loud as i can,and i know have my tv on stupidly loud all the time, and i am hoping he says something to me,as i will knock him out.

Well, you're being too philosophical about all this I think.(I love philo and was not too bad at it in school, but there's no point here)
I happen to bang doors every so often, and in 98% of the cases it's not on purpose it's just because I don't pay attention, I'm in a hurry or such a thing.

If I do it on purpose in front of the person I was talking to in the room, it is to explicit my disagreement and the fact that I want the conversation and the argument to be over, and I think that communication is un necessary with the person since they're too annoying/narrow minded.

If I realize I was being angry for no reason, then I move back to the room and say sorry and give a hug, or if I want to stay in my position, I expect the other person to come and apologize.

You should take distance about all this, because it's not worth feeling bad for a noise.

I can't imagine a visitor slamming a door, but teenagers certainly do it. It scares me. My mother told me how her sister accidently amputated the finger of a neighbor doing just that.

We all learn different things when we are young. Some people are not used to living in small spaces and don't know they are doing it. Some are just rude and some plane selfish. Keep your standards and go far. Well done to your parents

they are lack of concerns... such people in their class are usually non sensitive to nature, and their maturity in problem solving are not broad enough to cover the whole picture, if they reach the solution, their solutions usually are a short term solutions. or in another words, narrow minded, but they usually are a successful persons in winning their negotiations for a short term profits.

have you nothing better to ask? its a door - if its on a strong spring then it'll bang itself. If its loose on its hinges then wind can blow it shut loudly.

It dont matter, get over it!
