why christians has Old Testiments and New Testiments? Why not just follow the Old Testiments?Y need to change?

From what I understand, the teachings of Jesus and his sacrifice supercede and override the old laws of the Old Testament. The Old Testament was supposed to be a follow up to the true Gospel which arrived when Jesus walked the world and died to save humanity from its sins. From that point on, following the old law was no longer necessary for salvation - only the accepting of Jesus Christ as the true lord and saviour would lead to redemption.

The Old Testiment was written during harsh times when people had a limited understanding. As such it contained harsh punishments and was often fear based...due to the fact that that was what people could understand. As we grew spiritually the new testiment evolved to provide guidence from a more compassionate viewpoint. Instead of fear it moved toward compassion and understanding

hi, dear, let me clearly explain you, old testament is where god created the earth and universe. He created man and fulfilled all his needs. But he found out that people are very selfish and are not respecting him. And they were all doing sin. So, to tell them that they r doing wrong he sent Jesus Christ as a normal person on to this earth. He made him to lead a normal life as others lead and preach them the word of god and tell them that they r doing wrong. He made a great plan about jesus before only and then sent him on this earth. He showed his miracles through jesus christ and made him to die for the sake of other's sins. Then jesus got resurrection and showed the power of god.
In this way god tried to make the world understand the love and affection of him towards the nation.
There is no harm in following old testament or new testament.
It is pure heart which is seen by the god above.
The main difference in old testament and new testament is there in old testament god used to appear in front of sacred people and tell them what to do and what sacrifices were to be given.
But in new testament god sent his only beloved son to sacrifice his life for the sake of his love among the people.
This shows the love and care that the god has on his children.
Infact christians follow both the testaments, both are given the same importance but some give importance to any one which they feel is suitable to them.
But that and all is not important, the way you try to know god is more important.

The old testament is the book of the Jews, the Roman Catholic Church mixed them up together, but Christ clear said not to do so. Out of that mix up the world faced such horrible parts as Slavery, Racism and all other facts related to the situation we are facing till today.

That was the point of the N.T. To bring about change. The law of the O.T. was modified by Christ. For example, O.T.- if one man dies, his brother should take on his wife. N.T.- the dead man's wife will go on unmarried. Change was/is what Christ calls us to.
