dude, i have the same problem! you've gotta psyche yourself out. you probably already tried it but, set your clock 20 mins. ahead and try to forget that it is.
OR, what always works for me.....hitch a ride with a coworker that is always on time.....that'll make you hussle so you don't make them wait for you outside. Then it would be being rude to theat person.

t_minus beat me to the set the alarm clock ahead suggestion (darn), but when I thought about it... you never mentioned that oversleeping/staying in bed is your activity that's making you late. You haven't mentioned whether your job is a day or night job.
It sounds like you know what you have been doing that has causing you to be late. If you told us what your routine was before work (the good and the bad), we could tell you more specifically what could be done or changed to help you get over your procrastination spells.
Another part of the reason for your procrastination is that your job seems to let you get away with it. (Meaning: Despite the write-ups and warnings, you still have the job.) This actually surprises me a little as most companies that I know of would have dropped you as an employee by now (no offense). Seeing as this is the company's standards though, there's nothing that can be changed there.

If you work day shift, or any shift I suppose, I would advise getting up at least a half an hour earlier than you normally would, take that half hour to do something you enjoy, have a hot cup of coffee or tea, watch a bit of tv, fit in a quick workout, what ever, after that half hour is up, get up and get moving, set an alarm to go off 10 minutes before you need to leave for work, when it goes off, toss your lunch together, grab your keys, and walk out the door, no excuses. If you are showing up late to work because of stress of at work, then I would suggest either doing your best to resolve the problem or start looking for another job. If the reason you are running late to work is because of family or relationship reasons, then maybe you should switch shifts at work.

want to know something worse my husband will wake me up 2 hrs before he has to go to work all dressed and ready to leave right that second! i wish he would chill sometimes. tell someone to turn ur clock ahead because if u do it yourself u will just hit the snooze button knowing u got extra time. make urself a chart what time ur getting up and what time u are leaving the house and make urself stick to it. if u got a b/f husband make them get ur butt up and moving if not get a friend over for a couple days to get u up and moving you need to get in the swing of getting up at this time and leaving at this time and always give urself a 15 min cushion that way if there is no traffic u will be there a 1/2 hr early instead of late

procrastination can be normal. however, when your job might be at risk, it might be a problem. it might be a good idea to take an hones look at your job. is it what you do to get money. is it what you do because you liked the job at one time? i am sure that if you loved this job you will not be late. priorities -- if i told you that you will get one million dollars if you are on time tomorrow, i bet you will sleep outside of your job the night before just to be on time. if this is not the case you might need professional help because you are speaking of pathology at that point. hope the answer is helpful.

You are being passive aggressive. You have to really make a committment to arrive EARLY. I get to my workplace 15 min before my shift and listen to the radio in my car in the parking lot. Breaking it into two really is effective, and lowers stress tremendously.

I worked with a woman who was always 20 to 40 minutes late for her appointment. I finally told her that it wasn't very decent of her to expect me to spend 40 minutes of my life waiting unnecessarily. Time is all life consists of. When a person takes up your time, he/she is taking away part of your life. When you do that to someone, it is not very nice at all. If you want to be on time and want to be a considerate person, you CAN do it. The woman was never late for her appointment again.

I have been late, almost all my life, and what I feel about it is that it is because I feel that there is no point in doing what I'm doing. Whatever I'm doing, I'm not doing it for myself, or I don't want to do it. Try thinking about that
