In Isaiah 6 we read. I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted. In Exodus we read that Moses met with God in the tent "face to face" However Jesus says in the Gospels, No one has ever seen God. I believe that when God reveals Himself to us he could have a physical form but we can never see Him as He truly is - in His full glory. I do not believe that 'made in His image' means that he looks like us. I believe the image He refers to is His triune nature. We are made up of mind body and spirit. So to anser your question for me God is spirit who can manifest Himself as a physical presence if He wants to.

God can be seen everywhere, as a concept and a force. But for a specific spirit, the spiritual nature is the nature of angels.

There's also an idea says: "God is light".
