Pick your self up, brush your self off, and move forward. It sounds easy but you know its not. Its the only way to do it and nobody is going to do it for you. Get out and meet some of the other 6 billion people on this planet. You can't go foward by looking in the rear view mirror.. now you know why God gave us a middle finger!

Yes it is something I probably will never get completely over. But life goes on and so must I. And you too, time heals all wounds, in time you will find another. Although there will be times when you smell a paticular thing or go in some store or something that will bring back memories, hopefully though they will be by then just happy memories. Just take one day at a time, keep busy with work and your friends and family. Things WILL get better.
Good luck

Yeah it takes a long time to get over a broken heart. I didn't cry over it but it hurt real bad. I don't know if I am fully over the girl either and it has been years. I hope if you just had your heart broken I hope it heals quickly. Good luck.

sweetie, You are the only one who can answer those questions for yourself. It will only stop hurting when you let it go. Try to move on, make yourself busy, find things to do, meet other people, not necessarily guys, just make friends. If this heartbreak happened months ago and he hasn't come back then, you must move on. Of all the things in life we can never have again is time wasted. If he has moved on then you do the same. God gave us such a beautiful gift when He gave us Love that, we can always find others to love, if it hurts don't hold on to it let it go, move on. I know it sounds easier said than done, but I speak from experience, be strong and think that the longer you hold on to this heartache, the longer its going to keep you from loving and being loved by someone else.

After only a six month relationship, I learned that my lover had another relationship and had since I met him. (It was a twenty-year relationship.~sigh~)
Even in so short a time, I had come to love him very much. I cried almost constantly for about three weeks. But it really didn't hurt so much for very long after that. I kind of shook it off, tried to remember the wonderful times we'd had, and talked a lot to friends. (I never saw him again after that horrible day - it was best that way. We were both crying like babies when we parted.) I think of him fondly now, and with gratitude for the joy he brought me, in spite of his deceit.
Losing a love brings on grief. Time does heal grief. It really does.

Many things can cause a broken heart, and a heart can be splintered, broken and even shattered but one of the greatest miracles in life is that love heals even the most shattered of hearts. Not love alone, it requires time too.
We can distort the pain and memories that haunt us, and the moments better forgotten can be warped in time if we open our hearts and allow love to be the remedy of healing.

Oh yes, very long... Was crying for about 5 months and still think about him for about a year. Even now, he got a new gf recently and though it's 1++ years ago, it still affects me, even though i'm now over him.
It's the worst thing that ever happened to me, but I got over it.

I broke up with my boyfriend a month ago and I actually was thinking about him tonight and cried a little bit. I think that each situation is different and will take different amounts of time to get over.
