I bought a little too much and stuck the rest in the fridge but am worried that it'll turn bad soon. Can I keep it a day or more or just toss it into the bin right now?

sushi, shashimi & maki are to be eaten that day. the rice gets dry & the fish doesn't taste as good otherwise. i don't particularly care for it if i don't eat it in 24 hours. plus, you are talking about raw seafood . it's not worth getting some bacterial reaction past that time frame.

but i've done that - ordered more shashimi than i can eat. it's hard to select when it all looks so good. your eyes get bigger than your stomach. my fiance usually steps in & helps me out, so very little shashimi gets wasted in these parts.

You could probably keep it at most for a day or two, however the taste will definitely not be as good as if you ate it fresh, so you're probably better off just tossing it now.
