Christians believe that Biblical prophets always delivered the message of God. But in Christianity, not everyone is classified as a prophet just because someone says he or she is. Christianity does not recognize Mohammed as a prophet.

Christian do believe in prophets. All prophets prophicied of Jesus Christ, he was the son of God and would suffer for our sins.
Mohammad did not speak of Christs divinity. Plus the fact that prophets were almost exculsively Jewish and prophecied to the chosen people. Then Mohammad comes along and prophecies different things, teaching different things, to a different people, and of course teaching that muslims were the chosen people.

There is a great difference in them. Why do you think we don't believe in Mohammad?

In Christianity, there are differing opinions regarding prophets. Abraham, David & Moses are recognized as prophets, but not the other people you listed.
Some Christians also believe there are prophets in today's time, while others claim they no longer exist.

Great News !!!!!!!! in 1820 once more a prophet was called after a long apostasy. that's why there are about 55000 missionaries in the world declaring the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ on earth. The evidence of the restoration is the Book of Mormon - another testament of Jesus Christ. You can read and talk to the missionaries yourself. Since the organization of His church in 1830, there has been prophets on the earth today who has the authority to officiate in the name God and teach the children of men, there are 12 apostles of Jesus Christ again, His special witnesses. Today's prophet's name is Gordon B.Hinckley a 96 year old man who can say:" Thus saith the Lord". I believe Mohamed was a great person who taught many good things, but not a prophet of God, witness of Christ. Mohamed's teaching do many good things if applied in purity and help people to be better people. but he did not have any authority to perform saving ordinance of baptism or laying on of the gift of the Holy Ghost, which are vital for a person to be saved. God calls men and they can prophecy of JEsus Christ and testify of His atoning sacrifice and has the authority to establish church in His name.

Christianity is going hand in hand with the Holy Bible, i stand to be corrected although. The Holy Bible says that there are/will be prophets in the international. So definite, we as christians believe in the prophets. although the Holy Bible is going on to warn us about pretend prophets. It says there'll carry out miracles and performance powers that do not come from God the Almighty, so i wager what continues to be for us is to distinguish between both.

No. We no longer need prophets. We now have the word of God. Read what Matthew 7:15 saids about that.People claim to be prophets and bring you false information. If you want the truth, read the Bible. No one knows the future but Jesus.

what does the person above me mean when they say losses?

yeah i do beleive in them i think every religion have their own prophtes. there were bible ones and then there are also modern day prophets because i think god still chooses special people to continue his work here on earth. It depends if the prophet is one that really does good for the religion and the world in general or if they seek to destruct people's lives like the extremist islam people say mohammed says we can bomb people in the name of allah, ummm if that's the case i don't think that prophet is so great. In my religion we have one called ellen g white, although even people in my church don't fully go by her teachings even though the majority of us do.

oh sorry i didn't read ure question correctly but since i've blabbered on already i'll just leave that stuff there and say that they were only humans but if god ordained them and chose them then he would have helped them.
