Are you looking for just tickets, air, car, hotel, etc.
The best thing to do is book everything with Disney or use a travel agent. Personally, I would go with a travel agent so you don't have to worry about anything or search out all the answers to your question. Since it doesn't cost you anymore, it is a great way to go.
If you need hotel, your best option is to stay offsite. Even staying in the most expensive offsite hotel, you will be saving over the least expensive onsite resort, Paradise Pier. There are some pretty nice places offsite, but it is always a good idea to look up some reviews on them. One thing to remember, the higher end hotels offsite tend to be further away than the lower priced hotels.
If you are just needing tickets, again I would get them from Disney. You will save over buying them at the gate and you know the source is reliable. I never recommend buying from someone else online, offline, from eBay, etc. You just never know what you are actually buying. If you don't mind losing almost a whole day of your vacation, you can do a timeshare tour to get the tickets for free.
I hope this answers your question.

I'm not how soon you are planning this but I went this past March and got The Birnbaum Guide to Disneyland at a local bookstore and it had a ton of answers as well as little things I never thought of.
I'd also get the park hopper passes, they will admit you to either Disneyland or California Adventure one day an hour early.

How many days are you planning on going? At $50 a pop, it's less expensive to buy an annual Park Hopper pass if you're going for 3 days. This will let you into both Dland and California Adventure.
Often times Dland runs a promotion for So Cal residents (usually $30 a ticket.) Check to see if this is running at the time of your trip then ask some nice looking folks in line if they are So Cal residents and if they'll buy your tickets for you.

Try the family 4 pack. I think you get to stay in the hotel for like 3 days and 4 nights. I'm not sure. You can look it up at their official website.

Disneyland offers promotions for families all of the time. All of their promotions, however, require that you stay at one of the Disneyland Resorts. Check out the official website to see what promotions they are currently running: www.disney.com
