Most credit cards will have a balance transfer 'check' that you can write on the account.

If you have his consent and blessing, yes it is legal. The debt is paid, and no-one really cares how as long as you are not stealing or embezzling (or any infinite variety of that).

why not? its just a question of whether his credit card co. will do it--for example, if he's the co-signer on your card it shouldn't be a problem.
