If you have his consent and blessing, yes it is legal. The debt is paid, and no-one really cares how as long as you are not stealing or embezzling (or any infinite variety of that).

There are three parties involved the credit company, your dad and yourself. If all three parties have agreed then it is legal.

why not? its just a question of whether his credit card co. will do it--for example, if he's the co-signer on your card it shouldn't be a problem.
