You must be quite young. These thoughts and this feeling (butterflies in the stomach) can occur without any love involved at all; it could just be infatuation. Believe me...I know. I was never in a place where I considered butterflies and thinking of someone all the time as "love," but I knew I was just really hung up on the guy. When I gave it time -- and sometimes it can take quite a LONG time -- I realized it wasn't love and could never be.
It's love when you've known the person for over a year, know his good and bad points, and STILL feel butterflies in your stomach and still think of him consistently (but not ALL the time).

Love is still wanting to be with someone when all the 'butterflies' are gone,or only show up once in a while.

Love is not a black and white thing. It is a scale. If you have never been in love before, then what you are experiencing is the first stage of falling in love. If you have been in love before then it would be more accurate to call these feelings 'fancying' or 'liking' rather than love.

No. its not. Its just attraction, if this is nurtured and taken care this will develop into a true love. If this lasts for few weeks and fades off then its just sexual attraction.
