I suggest you do nothing. If you absolutely MUST, then suck on ONE ice cube, and no more than that.

It depends on what type of surgery it is. I would say that in general you should probably be fine if you have a drink of water. However, its rather late and if your surgery is early I would try not to drink anything no matter how thirsty you are. Good luck with your surgery tomorrow!

You need to follow the doctor's orders. If he told you that, that means you probably have some kind of test or surgery tomorrow. If it's a test, food or drink (including water) could mess up the results. If it's surgery, what they're worried about is that you'll have an allergic reaction to the anesthesia. If that happens, you could vomit and inhale it and die. (gross I know, but the truth.)

Its not a good idea to eat or drink. Just try to bear it until after the appointment.

If you're going in for surgery, suck on an ice cube, and that should quench your thirst. If you're going in for blood tests, feel free to drink water.

Try just swishing water in your mouth and then spitting it out... that should work!
