Community Parks, Historical Sites, Community gardens, FOP & Moose lodges often let their sites be use for free or low cost. My stepdaughter used cupcakes instead of the wedding cake. Many gowns can be bought on ebay and consignment shops for a very low cost. I know someone who did a backyard pot luck cook out. All weddings are wonderful - so just enjoy yourself.

wedding don't have to big and expenise. My fiancee and I are having a small priavte cermory with just friends and then after that we are going to have a bbq were everyone that we invited to the party can bring there favor food and favor sweets. The priavte cermory will be in my in laws back yard and the party will be held at his cousin's house. We decide on a small wedding because we are not into a big wedding at but most we don't have a lot of money even if we wanted to have a big wedding. Also our wedding is casual meaning come as you are. I am wearing a blue dress and finacee is going to be wearing khaki's and a polo shirt. Good luck

My suggestion is to have a JP come out to a location of your choice, like a park, or nice setting, or even your backyard. Contact the county clerk to check costs. You can get an arbor for flowers and pics from lowes or home depot for a pretty good price. The person who performed our wedding only charged us 60 dollars to do the ceremony and then we had the reception right there. We used our radio for the music and dance. We grilled out and had a huge barbque.
It was simple, elegant and inexpensive.
I bought my dress and shoes, we rented the tux and we made the rest ourselves.
Congrats to the happy couple and good luck!!!

I had a wedding under 1000 I had my ceremony by the river here in town with the historic bridge behind us we went back to my mother in laws place and had a informal bbq cup cakes for the wedding cake ($60 for 60 compared to 150 for a cake to feed 50)
We decorated the tables with clay pots with matching ribbon for the bridesmaid dress, and put in candles and polished river stones. We made our own wedding invataions which are easy to do if you have a computer, we found a friend to take our wedding Photographs (you can try a photography student) and borrowed friends cars for wedding cars, kept the boquet simple, and we had fun!
If you don';t want to pay for hte food ask the guest to pay for their own food instead of a gift.

-Keep the guest list small
-Use silk flowers instead of real flowers.
-Belong to a church? Most of them have receptions areas thet you could borrow for free and decorations that you could borrow as well.
-Use sparkling grape juice instead of champagne
-Get your dress off-the-rack, e-bay or consigment shop.
-Check www.orientaltrading.com for unexpensive wedding decorations and favours.
-Have a potluck wedding, all you should provide is the drinks (wedding punch is an unexpensive choice) and cake. Walmart has unexpensive and pretty wedding cakes.
-Are you going for informal? Have a bbq.
-Burn a CD with your favorite upbeat party songs and let it play during your reception. That will save the DJ cost.
-Get married in the morning or in the afternoon, so your guest won;t expect a full meal, you can serve hors d'ouvres instead.
-Rent the tux, and borrow a friends car tio come into teh ceremony, you can decorate the car with white ribbons.
Good luck and congratulations.

We told people three days before we were getting married that they were invited to come to the courthouse for the big event. Most of my family lives out of state, so our wedding guests totaled eight in number. We rented a limo, had dinner at a four-star restaurant and a month later, took a luxurious honeymoon. I wouldn't do it any differently. Good luck finding your path.
