Yes. Statues of people saints or images of Mary or Jesus etc... should not be in the church.

I know what you are saying but I don't exactly know for sure what is right in some situations. I mean it does not seem right to bow in front of some idol and chant and worship it. That is crazy..but I think churches have statues and all for that angelic look and remembrance.
I truly believe that God meant other idols and used that to not be exclusive to just statues... I think idols are anything that takes you away from God or that you put before him--like things that take up your time with him--like maybe the TV or computer or a person or job or sleeping too much or not being kind.... those are all things we may consider our idols or we may consider of importance above him, and he may see those type of things like idols that we don't even realize. I hope that makes sense to you.

Idols are anything we put between us and our service to God first. It can be sleeping an extra hour that we had set aside for Bible study. It can be pride. It can be more interest in a tv show or our yard work than a kind work to a neighbor or a call to a sick friend. We have to constantly beware of what we allow between us and God because even our good deeds in the name of God can become idols if we are not careful.

Insofar as God simply outlawed the making of idols, the worshiping of idols, and the worshiping of the false God's they represent in the Old Testament, then any church displaying images of God or people must answer the question of what exactly they're doing. However, insofar as Jesus, or to a lesser degree everyone, bears the image of God in themselves, then we are all "idols" in a broad sense.

God in his word the Bible strongly condemns the use of idols in worship. Why should he allow it? After all, just as he says "I will give my glory to no one else, nor to carved images" which was one of the 10 commandments. Most professed Christians today happily embrace idols such as the cross, numerous statues or paintings, or even symbols. That is why Jesus said "Not everyone saying to me Lord, Lord will enter into the kingdom of the heavens". Because they would rather do their own thing than do as God pleases.

Its wrong when you put your faith in idols. Worshiping idols and statues. As far as relics of angels or saints things like that is not wrong to have. But there is a fine line if you actually pray to those relics or statues, that is a NO NO!.. =)
There is one mediator and that is Jesus. He is whom we pray to and through him we have a communication with GOD.

Yes. Even if it's one of Jesus or Mary. They are idols made from the hands of man. God is not man made.
