Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. No other city has as much to offer and still maintains a low crime rate, minimal traffic, and great housing costs.
Pittsburgh was recently rated as one of the 10 smartest places to live by Kiplinger's.
The museums are unbeatable. There is a thriving cultural district in downtown that boasts the 5th busiest theater in the US by ticket sales.
As far as employment there are many large companies (7 fortune 500 companies) and the city is a major center for Tech, Education, Banking, Health care, and Medical Industries.
Pittsburgh has 3 pro sports teams.
The suburbs are more than affordable with some of the best school districts in the nation. And downtown living is becoming the new trend and is also very moderately priced for city living.
No other city offers the small town (little traffic, easy to network) feel with big city amenities (culture, sports)

lincoln, nebraska, i went there thinking i would hate it (expecting hickville, usa) and ending up really liking it. its a little jewel in the heart of the country, great public schools, beautiful seasons, nice people, low crime rate, lots of jobs, cheap living, great farmer's markets and a college town feel.
