What gives the charity revelance and how do we know they operate legimately. Where does all the funds go, and Can we ask as the people to where that money goes. Is it really ok-ay to give the charities directors big monetary salaries, When they say they are supporting children, medical needs, third world problems, etc. I know I feel that the CEO or President of some charities make more than a government official, so where does the funds go, to what they are really saying, Please give as much feedback, and How should they operate, yes I know theres advertising, office supplies, etc, But I think all proceeds should go to the directive of that charity not the people who are working for it.

If you are concerned with where the money goes, then give to those you see are in need around you. You know 100% of your gift went to help someone else and you won't have to worry about where your gift went. You will know, one person at a time.

First, contributing to charity is an honorable thing to do. As far as the percentage breakdown of funds going to the actual purpose of the charity as opposed to the staff, before you contribute, you can write to or call the charity and request the percentages. They should give the info out willingly, and if they don't, it's probably not a very trustworthy charity in the first place. Hope that helps. Have a nice day.

Isnt accountability upon your own soul? You give charity with good intentions. So is it not upto the ones receiving to take care of their soul because they will be held accountable. Yes you must always keep track of what the charity is doing and also demand a report if you think they are not honest.

The way I see it, it is immoral to take something that does not belong to you. So if the charities are cheating, well they will be accountable in the higher courts if no one catches them here first.

Keep in mind that whatever percentage makes it out of the charitable org also has to make it through governments. If any of the money makes it past that point, it sometimes then has to contend with military groups that usually withhold it from those in need becasue they are on the opposing side of civil war. The kid in the commercials on tv, rarely, if at all, sees any of your money. If you feel compelled to help those abroad, you really have to get involved actively, instead of through passive donation. Participating in charities within your local community is the most efficient way to help those in need.

Regardless of where the money goes in the charity, you are helping to keep its organization strong. Keeping an organization strong lets more people be aware of its existence, and know whatever problem they are fighting for is a problem.

I used to contribute to the lukemia and lymphoma society in San Francisco. It wasn't a large amount, but I would try to contribute what I could. They kept sending me address lables, and they kept getting fancier with gold on them. I wrote them and told them I would rather my money go to research, and if they didn't stop sending me the labels, I would stop my contributions. I realize they are trying to use gimmicks to real in the money and that is sad. They no longer get my $$$$$$
