I dont give money, i give food, i always carry food with me to give to the needy. its a really nice thing, or if you have restaraunt leftovers, they love those too!
plus you know that they are not using it for drugs or alcohol, and that they will gain some nourishment from it.

Don't give them money. Lock the doors and get out of there as soon as you can. You never know in this day and age, and many of those bums are professionals and make more money than we do in a year (and tax free too). I was pulling out of Wal-Mart once when I saw a family standing there with a sign saying they were stranded and needed money. Well about a week later I saw them again and there was this big RV parked not too far from them, the same one that was there the last time. I'm not sure but I think they were scamming people. If you've ever tried to help one of them, ever notice that they mostly want money? Try offering them a job or some food and see if they will take it. Most likely they won't. But don't really give them a job either because that can be very dangerous too. There are shelters and soup kitchens they can go to if they really want to but many of them chose that life. I'm not saying they all do but a lot of them do. You just have to be so careful anymore it's hard to know what's really right.

Could a chance encounter with a stranger be something more? Whether we’re helping an angel or helping a fellow human being made in God’s image, God wants us to be kind, merciful and loving—just as He is.

God sometimes sends an angel to test a person’s character. Hebrews 13:2 ~ “Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.” It seems angels can come in the form of a stranger—perhaps someone in need. So I always give when I have it.

I am on a fixed income, but I give the person directions to Salvation Army, or another shelter where they can receive food, a place to clean up, and a bed.

I have also brought them food. I try to base my actions on the idea that what goes around, comes around. Someday I might be in their position, but I would still like to be treated with dignity.

Sometimes my heart really goes out to the person, it honestly varies. There's some people you see who really look like they're just not trying too hard and could go get a job if they want to, while others really seem down on their luck and that they're having a seriously hard time, and I feel compelled to give them a few bucks.

Take him home, and give him a bath, then give him a 5 course meal (turkey, roast beef, caviar, etc and a couple of bottles of french champagne ($200 a bottle stuff) then give him your credit card and pin number, and tell him to max it out, that should teach him to be a homeless bum.

I attended graduate school in Philadelphia, and there were many bums hanging around the campus. When they would accost me for "spare change" I would always give them a piece of fruit-usually a golden delicious apple. it brought a smile to a few of their faces.

sometimes I give them some change, some times I give them some money and tell them that if they are truly not homeless and down on their luck that the lie will effect their karma and their life will be very bad, because the lie will comeback on them times 10.

I tell him I need money too, Just before I throw the pennies from my ashtray in to traffic. I tell him here go work for your money, and watch him dodge traffic as he picks it up!
