Sometimes the quality of the questions is, well, lacking. When people ask things like "Opinions, fact or fiction?" with no follow-up, I think people just answer the first thing that pops into their heads to get the points so opening the page won't be a complete and total waste of their time.

As was already mentioned, there would be more in-depth conversations if this were a true forum.

Is the habit of some people who make flippant remarks the cause of your concern? they do not answer the question, and are sometimes insulting. Yahoo Answers is a forum where some people ask serious ques tins and want serious answers, and it tends to make a mockery of the whole thing. Well, I am serious about it, but it takes all sorts to make a world. I only have 1% best answer so far though, which is a bit disappointing.

I think if this was a forum format we'd get more in depth. At answers.yahoo freedom of speech is now limited to freedom of ask & reply. I'm not downing this site, I'm just observing the facts.
