I'd go with Tara because:
1. It's a goddess name.
2. It's a southern belle name with looks that could kill (think "Gone With The Wind," well, okay, that was a plantation but you catch my drift)
3. It kinda sounds like "terror."

My aunt has a giant rottie/mix (150lbs) named Twiggy. Cute name for a massive, yet sweet dog.

I used www.babynames.com and here are a few that are cool Tama-means jewel in Japanese, Tatiana-means Fairy Queen in Slavic, Thora-means thunder in Scandinavian, Tiona-means one heart/one mind in Latin, Torie-means victorious in American, or Tyra-means God of battel in Scandinavian.
