Only Jesus Christ is the Truth, the Way, and the Life. So many people are wasting their time searching for Truth, but Jesus was already standing at their doorway waiting to accept you. It's your choice, and no doubt the most important decision you'll ever have to make. Nothing else in this world matters as seriously as this, the world is going to die one day anyway. When it dies, where will you be? Will you also die together with the world? Or, follow God's perfect will for you, and that is just to simply accept Jesus and be in His presense forever?

And this is the most important decision anyone ever has to make

Why Islam? Why don't you search and learn the truth in Atheism?

I'm constantly learning about life and science too.

Gonna go have a beer now. Actually, don't convert... that leaves more beer for the rest of us.

Seriously, One faith is just as good as any other. I just know that I am a fully functional capable of making my own decisions and don't need to go crying to some invisible guy when something goes bad in my life. I don't have to let my morality be served up by some guy that's been dead for a few hundred (thousand, whatever) years.I don't have to make up reasons to go kill people over B.S. and I don't have to try to "rationalize" or justify my faith. Not to mention that I can have a mesquite smoked pork tenderloin whenever I damned well please.

Hm-mm... now that I think about it, maybe one ISN'T as good as another.

I was raised Catholic. I've had Baptist and Unitarian friends all my life. I've worked for some twenty years alongside devout Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Orthodox Jews and I don't know how many others. I read as much and as widely as possible in the fields of popular science, philosophy, history, public policy and sometimes even Christian apologetics. I've had as much religion in my life as I need, thanks. And I could earn a degree in Comparative Religion (if such a thing exists) and I'll bet you a hundred dollars that on the day I get my sheepskin I'll still be every bit as much an atheist as I am today.

I'm not atheist because I choose not to be that said I enjoying learning about different religions and have found statements in many different religions that are profound and beautiful but as mentioned above without any hard no contest kind of evidence no one can be sure that their is or isn't a God. You just make the choice to believe in your beliefs for your own reasons and some are more fervent in their beliefs so they actively discredit other beliefs. I think some people just need to believe that they control their own destiny to make it through the hard times of life.

Religions claim their teachings come from the word of God.

Does God have a reason that underlies his words to humans, or does he just decide randomly what we should do with our lives?

If God's words are random, then there is no point in following them.

If God's words have an underlying purpose, then why do religions demand that they be followed on faith? Wouldn't it be better to learn what God's reasons are and use that knowledge to weed out all the human lies that have been inserted into every religion?

Ultimately, the truth does not depend on the existence of God. Demanding faith is just a tactic that religions use to prevent their followers from seeing through their lies.

The underlying flaw in any religion, by definition, is that it demands that you have faith in things for which their is a strong lack of evidence: supernatural powers and beings.

Thus, all religions fail to be of interest to those that have found that the search for truth is best served by the use of logic and empiricism.

If you want to know truth, do not focus on getting it from any religion. May I strongly suggest science and humanism to better fulfill your needs? :-)

1. I am not Athiest, but Agnostic.
2. I study other religions.
3. I even plan to become a professor of religion.
4. Who is to say what are and are not truths?
5. Please do not assume that Atheists/Agnostics refuse to look into other religions. I know many people who have looked into some. Just as I have.
6. I love learning about religions...they are beautiful.
7. Please, do not discriminate against us.
8. And, if I may ask...what are you? (spirituality/beliefs)

Believe me, it's not that we haven't investigated other schools of thought. However, when you boil it all down, almost every faith requires, at its base, the approval of supernatural beings.

As we do not believe in the supernatural we cannot ever accept a teaching based on their existence as "truth," no matter how we look at it.

This is not to say that we cannot take what we like from certain faiths for whatever reason, but we whole-heartedly believe that "truth" does not contain invisible people who live above us and care what we do.

Because no religion preaches the truth: no religion is true. The Quaran is filled with contradictions, injustice and violence, just like the bible, and anybody who could possibly view it as having anything to do with science probably flunked that particular class many times.

Athiest because its the Horoscope! One is desitned to believe in 'not to believe'!!Too much of originality of thoughts and intellectual perceptions not matching the ordinary folk, thats it.Belief in the self more.Taking responsibility of actions in a practical way, thats it.Athiests too have a religion of their own,of counterattacking the believers.Science has given a new hope, but for one thing, even Enstein says,Science without Religion is lame.
