It is a South American dish. It is a chili-spiced, citrus juice marinade usually for fish.
If you don't like fish, there is a great recipe book by Paul Gayler called Vegetarian Cookbook that has some recipes that use the marinade with vegetables in wraps or pita breads.

Cerviche is a wonderful dish. It has all types of fish in it. You "marinate" the raw fish in lime juice overnight. The acid in the juice "cooks" the fish. It is wonderful when served on a tostada.

seafood or fish, and lime or lemon juice, usually there's salt to. It's really actually very good and I don't even like to eat anything that was once in the water. The lime or lemon juice actually cooks the fish, so you aren't eating raw fish or anything.
