I always ask for the hamburger without cheese, mostly so I can get a hot sandwich. And because I am not big on cheese.
My experience with the McDonald Restaurants is, if you ask they'll change it for you. But you must ask, just like you do at Burger King.

It's never your way at McDonalds. When they first started it was the cheapest place to feed your kids. Now it's not so cheap, some of the food is better, but it's their way. No individuality allowed!

"Have it Your Way" was actually the slogan for Burger King in 1973 - 1978. Not McDonalds.

You can have it your own way, but you pay out of your bum for it and end up waiting 20mins for your food. By then you aren't hungry anymore!!! So I've stopped "lovin it" and rather go to subway.

I've never heard that you can choose what you want on your sandwich at McDonalds. You'll just have to order what they offer or go to Burger King.

If you are paying for it then you should get it your way, within reason of course. Like you can't order your hamburger rare, etc. But you can tell them what you want on it (providing they offer what you want). My son orders a hamburger with no bun, no nothing, just the burger (it's for his dog, Bandy. The girls at McD's now call it the Bandy Burger!).

I have it my way every time I go there, so Burger King may claim they are the best b/c you can have it your way, but Mickey D's has them beat b/c you get it your way there too, AND you're "lovin' it"....teeheehee
