So no.
You could consider just going up to them and ask them if there is something going on that you as a neighbour should be concerned about (or wait until they are done and ask your neighbour after the police leave).
But don't just go up to them and listen in. That's just weird (and rude).

The neighbours might feel embarrassed by your eavesdropping and may bear a grudge against you for it. If you want to maintain their goodwill after the incident, it might be wise not to make it obvious that you are listening in. Personally, I would not appreciate people pointedly standing out the front and listening in to my private business. If anything came up that directly concerned them, I could inform them in my own time, after all.

I've done it before, in a covert kinda way, dont make it obvious, but I think if the coppers r outside talking to ur neighbour its prolly not very confidential coz they usually take u inside to talk if its important - that said I overheard my neighbour getting arrested the other week and it was quite amusing (and enlightening to see what he'd been up to!)

It's OK by law once you don't leave your premises and get in the way.
On the other hand, why would you want to?
And when you really think about it, what if it's a situation that you don't personally want to get involved in. You could be getting involved in something that could be more of a hassle than a help.

probably not ok but interesting.. lol.. on the other hand that depends on your neighborhood and the neighbors as well! In some cases you might want to go to the far end of your house and hope they don´t start shooting.. lol..

well it might b a little obvious! And it would certainly be bad for form to be seen sneaking around in the bushes. You could go outside and pretend to do yard work or something.

dont get involved. you may not want to hear what they have to say.if it dont have nothing to do with you , the situation is not our business. we all get noisy at times if that's the case buy a scanner that way you can stay inside and know the business. that way you wont offend your neighbors and you all can have peace.

If you are on your property or on public property it should be OK unless the cop tells you to leave.

I don't think it is nice to go listen. I may be a very personal matter. But I know how hard it can be to resist! :-)
There are tons of saying:
"Listen and Learn."
"It's not nice to eaves drop."
"Mind your own beeswax.".
"Curiousty killed the cat."
Go with the one you like! :-)
