Take oil, butter, and refined sugars out of your diet (as much as possible); eat vegetables; drink (bottled) water; wash your face as often as you can through a day, until you have it under control; change your pillow case often; don't wear make-up when you don't have to (let your pores breathe). I believe it is helpful (very) to drink straight, sour, nothing-added cranberry juice. (Besides straight, consume it in other beverages, like with orange juice; there are great blends on the market too - no "cocktails". CJ is available at heath food stores and in most grocery stores.)

I used to be on 40mg of Accutane and had the best luck with that since nothing else seemed to work. I pay closer attention to food labels and what types of food that I put into my body. I try to take care of my skin and keep it clean and I try to exercise on a regular basis. Acne tends to be hereditary in my family so that works against me. Be careful if you haven't tried Accutane and want to try it, it's not gentle by any means but like I said, it was the only thing that worked for me so I'd go on it again. There is a risk of birth defects so you have to have some form of birth control if you're on it. Good luck, I know how frustrating it is when your skin isn't clear.
