Hello. Does anyone know a different way to get rid of the little white worms (that look like rice) that my cat has, other than man made medicine? Thanks for looking at my question, April

Those little white worms are tapeworms from fleas. You need to treat the cat with man made medicine. Get rid of the fleas with frontline and treat your house, that is the only way to get rid of them.

We sort of had the same problem, I live at the beach so fleas are already bad, but apparently the fleas have been super bad this year for everyone. The cats are easy. We get them some advantage flea drops and they are good for 3 months with the bottle. However the dog wasn't responding to advantage or frontline. Finally we asked about their other option it is a pill for dogs called Comfortis. It worked super good. It only lasted about a month but with how crazy the fleas were I didn't care.(You know the fleas are bad when you hold the cat up and can see them jumping off!) So I suggest you just go to the vets office, you don't have to talk with the vet just ask the person at the desk for some flea medicine for the animals they should help you get it all sorted out.

You should really go to the vet and buy some worm pills. There is a worm pill the is $4.00 a piece. you give it to your cat once every 3-4 months and it keeps ALL worms away. That is what I do for my cat and he has only had those little White worms once and I have had him for 8 years. He also has no fleas that is because I buy Advantage fro cats. One drop on their back behind their ears and no fleas. You can also buy this from your vet and it is not expensive around $15.00

Get some worming tablets now, they are man made but this is the health of your cat we are talking about, be a responsible owner and take the poor animal to the vets for treatment, don't make your pet sick, that's what medicine is for. If you do not treat the problem this amounts to cruelty and you should not be allowed to keep animals.

My vet says that the little white worms that dry up and look like rice are tapeworms. She says that these worms are most commonly contracted when your cat swollows a flea that is infested with the worms eggs. The only way to safely and completely get rid fo them is to get a pill from your vet or from 1800petmeds.com. If they are coming out of your cat then that means that your cat must me infested with many of them. This is common however it needs to be treated or your cat could become seriously ill from them.

Get deworming pills from your vet, not from a pet store they definitely don't work as well, and I would recommend putting your cat on advantage as well, even if they aren't outdoor cays you can still bring fleas into your house and then they could get worms again

Hmmm not sure if ya should give a cat any but, a hefty plug a chewin tobacco works well on horses. The nicotine is a poison and it works but ya might kill the kitty in this case.

PS One of my cats was so bad I called him "tape"

I would say outta the two, pills or tobacco, the pills would be the safer bet.

Go to a plant nursery and get "pure" diatamatious earth. Make sure there are no additives or pesticides etc in it. sprinkle a little bit in its food (wet) and let kitty eat it. It is safe and will not harm kitty but will kill the worms and their eggs.
