how can we think God would be so unforgiving as man when He gave his only son for our sins? Or was that just another lie too?

Different people need to believe different things to continue going on and dealing with life as long as that individual does not cause malicious premeditated harm to anyone (you can argue what that incorporates amongst yourselves cause I'm not 100% sure) let them believe what they choose after all someone telling you you are wrong or going to hell because of what they believe doesn't make it true and they will not know if its true until they are dead and maybe not even then.

God loves us so much that he gave his son to die for us. If he had not no one would be saved. We would all have to live in damnation eternally.

Jesus did. He loved you that much, even though you didn't know Him.
