I am not sure why people got offended, but I think your question was a great one. I think there are parents that do not think about what they monitor their children from. You made a great point, and I am glad that you ask such questions, maybe you can change one parent's mind. Keep up the asking questions.
To add input on your question, personally I do not let my child watch either one. If she had to watch one, I would want her to watch a kissing scene over a killing scene. Kissing is a natural part of life, and so is death, but killing is not.

I feel you! When people can not talk to you face to face they feel as though they have so much power. Such as when someone calls a help line and bitches out the poor girl answering the phone that knows nothing about the engineering behind the power grid. The power is out, poor Misty is fielding the calls....Misty has a high school education and three weeks of customer service training. Irritated Bob ripps Misty a new "hole" 'cause she is an easy target. When Big Bill the power technician shows up in Irritaed Bob's neighborhood to fix the problem Irritated Bob becomes Needy Bob. He sucks up to Big Bill and knows Big Bill won't take his crap. The reason people attack you online is that they can not and will not ever see you. They feel they have power to make you feel like a pee-on, while storking their own egos. For you my scorned freind, the next customer that gives my CSR a hard time, I will make them wait a week to get service. Who has the power now *****?!?!

You also must keep in mind there are many different cultures and different ages that use this form of communication. Who knows you might have touched one person and made them more aware of what is going on in their world. You just might have changed their world and way of thinking for the better.

Well I don't think I get offended by really anything, probably due to the desensitization caused by those movies you are talking about, but if you are indeed trying to provoke thought, keep at it

your question is too long for me to read, but yes, people get offended and some don't really want to know the truth on here. it's crazy. don't ask the question if you don't want to know the truth.
