I live in Ohio and make 240/day for a 7 hour day. In this area it doesn't matter if you are just out of college or not. As a matter of fact, sometimes hygienists right out of school make more that an established hygienist. I think hygienists are so excited to make that much money right out of school, they don't ask for frequent raises. So my advice is get it while you can. Oh yeah, I work 3 days per week, get retirement (@10%of my yearly salary), two weeks paid vacation, holidays and sick days. I've been out of school 8 years.

It really varies on what part of the county you're in. The link below is a site where hygienists in different states have listed what they make. I live in a large city in the southeast and a RDH fresh out of college will probably make around $200-$225 a day. Whether or not benefits are offered really depends on the dentist. Most hygienists only work part-time, so they may or may not be offered benefits.

Entry level salaries vary, depending on the area of the city and the employer, but an average salary range for entry-level hygienists is from $29 to $35 an hour.
You may get less, but I bet there are benefits...
