Becuase they have no faith. They cant believe anything that they cant physically see or touch etc. God is supernatural and Christians live in the supernatural.

That is a patently untrue statement that lumps all atheists in a very odd preconceived notion that you seem to have. Atheism simply means "without theism"... that is, without a belief in a deity.

There are as many kinds of atheists as there are people, and they certainly don't all say, "where is your God?"... in fact, I've never heard one say that, and I know quite a few. You seem to have a bias against atheists, who are really simply any number of people living without a belief in a god. If a few people claiming to be atheists have bothered you in a such a way, try not to hold it against anyone who doesn't believe in your god, as that hardly seems fair, no?

Also, atheists in general cannot be said to be "determined" not to find "God". Many simply do not see any evidence to believe in a god, and even less to believe in the specific gods of various extant world religions with sacred texts dating back to periods of other religions that have long since been relegated to the realm of mythology.

Edit: Dr. J is not making any sense, so I thought I'd address his nonsensical-ness. ;) For one thing, atheism is not a "belief"... it's the lack of a belief. And if you're working with scientific theory, the burden of proof falls on the theist, since the theist has a belief and posits a theory... one of a god, however undemonstrable.

If I do not believe in Santa Claus, is it a belief that there is no Santa? No, it's simply a realization that there is no Santa. And should I have to go about proving that there's no Santa? Certainly not. Only the person claiming there really is a Santa has to do that. That's what burden of proof is all about. I don't believe, and as I'm not exactly flying in the face of obvious evidence of Santa, no one could ask to prove his non-existence. It also isn't news, nor a belief, nor anything that affects my day-to-day existence. If someone asked me if I believed in Santa, I'd simply say no. But if someone goes around touting Santa-ism and not only that, but telling me that I'll spend eternity a toy-less realm of fire, I would certainly hope they'd offer some proof of that. Proof beyond offering up a book called, "Yes, Virginia". ;)

That's a good answer digilook!

Atheists generally do not realize that their belief in the absence of God is just that - an unprovable belief. They do not recognize that they live on the opposite side of the same coin as believers. Just as a believer cannot prove the existence of God (that is why it is a 'belief'), the atheist cannot prove the absence of God (that is why it is also a 'belief').

The atheist's argument that 'believer's are irrational, if true, then also implies that atheists are irrational. Both systems are unprovable 'beliefs'.

Note: scientifically speaking, it is almost impossible to 'prove a negative'. So the greater burden of proof, falls upon the atheists because their belief system is scientifically much more difficult to defend.

Best wishes.

Because you claim your god exists yet, there is no proof or factual evidence that it does. It makes perfect sense that an atheist would ask that. Some atheists have looked for god and were determined to find it, but, it was never found. If god really existed, there would be no reason to search for it.

The question is not viable, because atheists do not believe in God--therefore they wouldn't ask where he/she/it was! I have gotten on my knees in prayer COUNTLESS TIMES in my 52 years, only to have them fall on deaf ears! I don't need God, and if he/she/it exists, I am not needed by God! I don't bother with God any more--I refuse to feel the guilt, the fear, the unknown, because it only causes me pain. If a God really wanted us to know him, it would be far more apparent than the tidbits of information that we have to use as faith, and faith alone. I'm not jumping through any more hoops for God--my time is limited on this planet, and I'm not wasting ANY MORE OF IT in a useless pursuit!!

This IS a viable question. They want you to show them where God is in horrible situations. Small children are killed horribly by a child molester-Where is your God? Good hard working people have horrible tragedies-Where is your God? Horrible natural disasters like tsunamis, hurricans and earthquakes kill countless innocents-Where is your God?

No, they are not looking for God, and don't want to find him. They truly & sincerely want to know how YOU can find him.

If I can't see something, if I can't feel something, or if there is no scientific evidence, I can't believe.
I can't see the wind, but I can feel it, I can't see atoms, but there is scientific proof.
I don't see any proof of god, I used to believe, till people on yahoo answers woke me up from the pipe dream.
