If jesus was kind to everyone and befriended even the worst society why do so mony Christians judge such people and isolated themselves in insular groups instead of befriending them?

Why denounce prostitutes and make their practice illegal when Jesus would be their friend? Why prohibit alchohol when Jesus would turn water into wine just to have it? Why picket doctors when they perform abortions? Why pass laws against homosexuality and estrange them? It all seems so un Jesus like. Whatever happened to just turning the other cheek and shruging it off?

Because it's not easy to follow Christ, and a lot of people really don't understand what He was trying to say. They listen to so-called Christians who twist the words of the Bible to their own purposes.
The one exception I have to make is that I understand why a Christian would oppose abortion. Jesus said, "Suffer the little children and let them come unto me." That sounds like he didn't want us harming little children. I do not think we should be blowing up abortion clinics, or killing doctors, however. Instead, I think we should try to help pregnant women who are afraid to have their babies for whatever reason. I also think we should encourage people to use birth control so abortion never becomes an issue. By the way, Jesus told the woman being stoned for committing adultery not to sin anymore. He didn't think it was ok; he just cared about her even though she was a sinner. He didn't want people to do wrong, but he didn't want to turn his back on them either. Not the same as saying that it's ok to be a prostitute. He never said a word about homosexuality, as far as I have ever seen. I don't think he cared about it at all. More importantly, he told us to love one another. Period. No exceptions. How many of us can manage that? Not many, I think. If we could just do that one thing, the world would be transformed by it. We haven't even begun to try, even 2000 years later.

Christians can be like Jesus and often are, however your looking at basics of anarchy which no person whatever their religion who after experiencing life without those societal ills wants to go back to. Look instead at how many hospitals and schools are sponsered world wide by Christians. Schools where the level of learning goes far beyond the basics of religion and you may change your opinion

Jesus doesnt believe in what they do, he would become friends with them to help them make better choices. jesus is against homosexuality bc it is against the bible and abortions are just like killing someone. which is against the ten commandments. . the reason we prohit alcholol is bc people abuse it. they are trying to help other people it just comes slowly, u cant expect everyone to change. we americans are far to stubborn. how are we isolating ourselves groups. its called going to church and we are befriending some by bringing them to church. and some of my friends arent even christians. so maybe u shouldnt be blaming everyone for this.

Because true believers in Christianity understand that the reason they follow Jesus is because they inherently AREN'T like him, in fact, everyone isn't, that's what makes Christ so appealing. The purpose of believing in Christ is so that we may be forgiven by Him, not transformed into him. Many other religious followers don't necessarily

Living in our country it is hard to go preach to everyone. everybody has everything. Not very many people are really poor compared to most poor countries. Everyone has a aprtment or a trailor to live in or even a box. Most homeless choose to live on the street. i'm still trying to figure out how to help people.

Jesus befriended the sinner, but instructed them to sin no more. He did not tell them that everything was ok and they could continue doing as they were.

Because if Christians were required, as a matter of faith or doctrine, to act like Christians, there would be no Christians.

That's a great question. The main reason is fear and lack of knowledge.
