microwave is deep heating radiation. plastic melts when the food in it gets too hot, therefore particles from the plastic can mix with the food heated. since plastic is made of chemicals, it is therefore possible that frequent ingestion of microwaved food in plastic containers can cause cancer. anything can possibly cause cancer because cancer is unknown in origin.

there is a link between dioxin and cancer. Using plastic containers to microwave food causes dioxin in the plastic to leach into the food. Do not use plastic in the microwave; stick to glass. Especially, never use plastic wrap or styrofoam.

It has not been proven that microwaving plastic creates dioxin at temperatures below 400 F.
Just heat your food to a reasonable temperature and keep an eye on it. If you don't, you will be left with a mess to clean up. Don't let the plastic wrap touch the food, if you want to be completely safe.

Yes, but not all foods. It's just basically the reaction between the fats and the plastic.
Keep that cheese away from the plastic!

Old plactics used to cause a problem with fats that were mircowaved... Glass is best , cover with wax paper and you are set. The new plastics are now different than the old stuff.....

I have heard it said that the plastic can blister and that little amount could be enough to cause health problems. Mostly digestive though.
