My cat did the same thing to his rear end a while back. The vet said it was stress from relocating so much. I thought that was the silliest ting I ever heard but the vet could not find fleas or anything harmful and cats are very territorial. I gave him a bath with moisterizing soap then applied lotion rich in aloe and rubbed it in well with a cloth. He stopped licking and the fur grew back in no time. I guess it was dry skin.

It's possible she's suffering from a nervous condition. Run through a mental checklist - has anything changed in your home? New job? New schedule? New baby? Anything can make a cat nervous, and some breeds are more prone to it than others. Check in with your vet for a check up and prognosis of what's going on.

It's the food you are feeding her, she's allergic. My cat did the exact same thing, we switched her to a food called Innova EVO and have never had a problem since. Go to this website for all the info you need on cat nutrition.

One of my cats does that. Its a bit of a neurotic thing. It really doesnt do the cat any harm, unless she is ending up with scabs on her belly. If that happens take her to the vet.

Your cat might be in heat or she just is "super clean". My cat did that when she was in heat but if she is spayed then thats not true. If you still cant think of anything, go to a vetrinerian to get all the answers.

Your cat may be stressed. This condion is called Cropping. Cats do this when they develop a nervous condition. Your best bet would be to seek a Vets adivce to make sure it isn't a parasitic problem.

it might also be food related.. make sure she isnt on a food with a lot of CORN, SOY, other "non-cat food allergy causing filler type ingredients"
also if her food is one with lots of mulitple colored peices the food dyes could be part of the problem
- good pet foods are NOT available in Grocery Stores or Wal Mart
she should see a vet to rule out other things too

You need to take your cat to a vet. This needs to be treated with medication that the vet can give you
