Send them care packages. A church buddy loves to get Chef Boy Ardee Ravioli and Spaghetti, cookies and candy. He said he gives the kids there the candy because it makes them so pleased and really sends a message of good will. He's really over the MRE's. Make sure there's no pork or alcohol.
Also, send some flowers to the ladies. From what I hear, it's very brown and ugly there. Something bright and pretty made my friend's day. (I don't know if they had to pass some inspection to exit/enter the country. Ask the Post Office.)

Impeach Bush! This president is allowing our troops to go w/o proper equipment and body armor in order to make a few corporations massively wealthy. Our young men and women are there to help the Iraqi people, but our government is there to make a buck $$$$$$$$
And this is not democratic rhetoric... I'm glad we kicked Saddam Insane's @*. But it is time to give George the kick as well. He is incompetent and couldn't tie his shoes w/o instructions.
The republicans are blinded by greed and pride - they have an answer for everything...but not the correct answer

As a tangible effort to help the US troops, you can donate to the Red Cross or the USO. Also, any number of private orginizations accept donations to provide 'goodie bags' to personnell that are deployed.
One such company is brigade quartermaster, a catalog order company that sells military/police gear to individuals as well as the government. For a donation, they will send a package of personal items (hygien etc.) to servicemembers
www.actiongear.com for catalog
I m not affiliated with brigade quartermaster in any way. I used to order some of my gear from them when I was in the military.

Join up and let some come home that have been there for 2 years. Other than that, just support them.

Send care packages......good things to send are baby wipes(they don't get showers very often), sunglasses(just cheap pairs that can get broken all they need to do it keep the sand out of their eyes), and candy(like said above they love giving them to the kids). The best thing to do it to just give them your support. There are lots of guy's over there right now that don't have any one sending them anything. I know it would be greatly appreciated if you just wrote to them too. Thanks from a spouse for wanting to help our guy's!
