I am a minority delivery driver for a local pizza business and have noticed that blacks, Middle easterners, do not tip. We drivers get minumum wage and have to pay for our own gas, insurance and oild and tires, to get your pizza to you. I feel as though if you do not tip, go get the pizza or other food items yourself! No tip to the driver means that he or she has just made less that hour paying for the gas to get your pizza.

It has nothing to do with "race" it has EVERTYTHING to do with "class"!!!

I tip all of the time. You do not know what you are talking about. Look at you trying to live large off of a pizza delivery job.
You should go get another job if your reliant upon tips for money. If we didn't order pizza you wouldn't even have a job; then you would find something else to complain about. This is not a race issue, but an issue of being cheap or not. What a stupid question. Do you have any concept on logic ?
You see a few people do something and then you want to go and stereotype anyone. You have probably never been anywhere or done anything. You sound so small minded. You probably cannot afford to travel out of your area on your salary. So try reading and learning something. Small minds like yours shouldn't be allowed to roam very far. Be careful how you make generalizations about everyone; cause you are wrong.

I'm sorry but I am black and I do tip even if I order just a coffee at a coffee shop,because I have worked in the food industry .You must not generalize a whole race based on a perception as you are expected to provide a service and that is what you are being paid for.I too must pay for gas,tires ,oil ,insurance and all the things that reqiure me to get to and from work.Have you shared your concerns with the blacks and all the middle eastern people that you deliver this pizza too as I'm sure they must take up about 99% of your deliveries.So it is like second nature to me to tip people,without even noticing if he or she chinese, asian,caucasian ,mexican and so forth,we all provide services in one way or another to the general public which consists of many races creeds or colours. If I were a delivery service technician I would be thankful for the 1% of all the other races,which do tip.

I waited tables for five years in college, and I noticed the same trend. Now, some might say it's a self-fulfilling prophecy--you think minorities are going to be bad tippers, so you give them bad service. However, that was never the case with me, especially since I didn't know this stereotype to begin with. Once I noticed it, though, I actually tried harder on tables with minorities in the hopes that they would see they were getting exeptional service (and thus not being discriminated against) and would tip better. It rarely worked. I honestly have no idea what causes this phenomenon. I thought I would figure it out after awhile, but I never did. I'm not saying every minority does this, but in my experience the majority of them do.

Yes, some are bad tippers. The generalizations you have made may be correct but, as a black person, I ask that you and others who provide service not choose to give me terrible service just because you see that I am black. I usually tip about 20% and I would hate to give you less just because you chose to put me in the category of "bad tippers."

well i am a minority (asian - vietnamese), and i tip everything wether it is delivery or not. it is not the group, but person. i have a Pakistan friend and he tips everything, and sometimes way more than me! it could be something, the theory does sound 40-50% right, i but really don;t believe in it

You cant put every one in the same catagory. I always give 11% of my tab for the tip, Have you tried asking for a tip from your customers.

I always heard it was the Jews that didn't tip....the Jews. If you don't like not getting tipped, then GET A REAL JOB!! Unless you're like 17 or so, then GET AN EDUCATION
