Well, many of the teachings we have today come from the first buddha and his early teachings..........your question kinda sounds like you're comparing buddha and JC though, because in reality there has been thousands maybe hundreds of thousands of buddhas (literally translated it just means the one who is awake, or enlightened)

i think of the circumstantial evidence for Buddha is extraordinarily overwhelming. a sparkling faith and texts did no longer basically emerge out of skinny air. The evidence for Jesus is far less yet sufficient to signify that he truly did exist.
