I have 30 cats, so I know what I am talking about! You DON"T move new kittens to another box, what you do, is just leave the old box as is, with kittens and mother, gently lift them all out, and put in a clean towel as fast as you can, then put them all back in the box and walk away and leave them alone for a while! They should stay in there and appreciate the nice clean towel! Hope I was helpful!

There is a way around that problem. Is there anything in the old box like an old pillow or an old towel or something inside the box? If yes, gently remove everybody for a little bit, and replace the materials that are all bloody and replace them with clean stuff right on top of the bloody mess of the box. Then gently put everyone back in the box. The mother and her babies will still smell the blood, but it is a cleaner environment for everyone involved.

If there is nothing in the box but the box, you can still remove everyone gently and place an old towel or an old pillow or an old blanket in the box and then put everyone back onto the clean material. The momma cat and her babies will still smell their scents, and will accept their new bed and everyone will be happy.

In about 2 wks., you will then be able to find a cleaner and bigger box or a large pet bed for them.

Good luck to you and your cat and kittens! Cats can be true friends for us humans!

Wait a week or so be for moving the kittens then replace the clean box where the old box was and put the old box in the trash. Mother cats may move the kittens to other locations like under beds, couches or behind washers and Dryers, Don't worry the mother cat knows how to take care of her babies. Just don't be surprised when you don't see the kittens for a while or until they open their eyes and start moving around. then they will be coming out everywhere.
I had a cat who had her babies under the bath tub, she got under there from a hole in the cabinets, and then the kittens started coming out from the cabinets when they opened their eyes and were able to move about. the fun thing is trying to catch them when they are older. Good luck and let mom cat take care of her kittens she knows best.......

are you putting the new box in the same spot as the old one? if so, try just cleaning it out the best you can for now and lining it with a clean cloth of some sort.

If you are trying to relocate the kittens to a new box AND a new location, well Mama aint going to have it. Typically, cats give birth in a spot where they feel their kittens will be safe. My cat wouldn't even let me bring her babies out into the rest of the house until they were about 3 or 4 weeks old. If i tried it, she would just come snatch them from me and put them back where they belonged! LOL

I have some experience with litters, you have to just let the mom and kittens be until they are all ready to move, which if memory serves me right this is at least 2 weeks or more depending on the mom. You will know when they are ready and most importantly when the mom is ready.

Let mommy take care of it. I had that problem once and the vet told me that if mommy wants them moved she will do it. Plus mommy usually keeps things clean. If you put an old clean towel in there(under the kitties) maybe she leave it.

You'll need a pet carrier cage.... place new paper in the bottom and then an old towel.....move the new family to the new home and shut the door...if you don't have one pick a room, shut them up and watch mom so she can't move 'em...place old stuff in garbage bag so she can't smell it or get to it...it's best for sanitary reasons...you and them...she will get them clean...and bout every three days change the papers inside and towel....good luck......p.s. they are pretty durable, they'll be o.k.

Momma cat chose the original box for her babies and will keep them there no matter where you move them. Try replacing any soiled fabric with a clean soft blanket. She should accept it with no problems.
