The word hell is used nowhere in the old manuscripts, theres death, grave and sleep, hell is a mistranslation of a few words from the original manuscripts, god judged the earth by water in the first judgment(proven a great flood happened)( I dont think anyones drowning for eternity) in the second judgment(or correction, chastisement, reproof,) the earth is going to be cleansed and refined by fire like the earth was by water, the wages of sin is?????DEATH, not a couple mistranslated words that the churchs used to keep control of the masses HELL. Hell doesnt exist ,Delivered to the grave is how most of those should be translated.Would you as a father take your rebellious kids and send them to an eternity of pain and sufferring? now a time out in the refining fire of god to take the straw and burn it away and refine us to gold purity, no that I could see.God says turn the other cheek and to love your enemies then send his enemies to hell for eternity, Boy is that a trick of the devil or what!! sorry bub , my gods not a hypocrite.

That depends up to the discretion of God. He can assign any christian in Islam Hell, or any Muslim in Jewish hell and so on. Actually that depends on the vacancy in a particular hell. Even Jesus cannot help in that matter.

Let's see...
* There's Gary, Indiana
* America with a Bush family member eternally in the white house
* Christian Fundamentalists teaching "science"
* Britney Spears teaching a parenting class
* The dimension where all they play is rap music
* And the reality where men are still ruining ( oh dear, I meant to say "running") everything

So there are five hells. And yes, you can travel between them but you have to drive A 1976 Gremlin...with no air conditioning...and all the roads are in Phoenix...where it's perpetually August and 127 degrees...and you have plastic seats in your car...and you're naked...and your windows don't roll up...and all you get to drink is scalding hot Starbuck's "someone put a cigar out in this cup" coffee.

The Bible describes three hells.

SHEOL OR HADES, THE FIRST HELL
The first term in Greek and Hebrew means the grave. It's the grave where the dead await the resurrection.
GENESIS 37:35---I SHALL GO DOWN INTO THE GRAVE.
PROVERBS 15:11--HELL & DESTRUCTION ARE BEFORE THE LORD.
ECCLES.9:10---NO WORK...OR KNOWLEDGE...IN THE GRAVE,
MATT.11:23---WILL BE BROUGHT DOWN TO HADES
1COR.15:55---O HADES, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY

GEHENNA, THE SECOND HELL
The second term in New Testament means the place of fiery destruction of the wicked.
MATT.5:22--...BE IN DANGER OF HELL FIRE
MATT.10:28--TO DESTROY BOTH BODY AND SOUL IN HELL

TARTAROO, THE THIRD HELL
This third term is only used once and refers to the place of restraint where the demon spirits were placed following the rebellion against God.
2PETER 2:4---BUT CAST THEM DOWN TO HELL.

There is definitely only hell. But it is divided into many layer, depending on the sins you committed, you will go to different layer to receive your punishment. After receiving punishment in one layer, you may move to other layer to receive other form of punishment. The type of punishment you received in different layer is different. By the way, there is no need of any transportation, either you will walk or drag to the destination, or you will appear in the destination in a blink of your eyes, jus like teleport. Yep, there is only one hell regarding of wherever race or religion you are in.
But hell is not the only place we could go after we died, other than hell, depending on the good and bad thing we had done when we were alive, we could go become human again, or become animal, or become hungry ghost, or go to heaven to become god, or become a demon and lastly to western paradise to become a buddha which is the best.
Hope this will clear your doubt.:)

In fiction, you're right, there are many hells. Everyone will end up in everyone else's hell I suppose, which makes no sense because no one can be in more than one place at once. This is where reality saves the day though, no hell actually exists. So to answer your question, zero.

There is only one hell because there is only one god, no matter what people call him. People go to hell according to their sins not according to their religion. However I believe there are different degrees of hell; a degree for terrorists (The Highest By Far), a degree for rapists, a degree for thieves....etc. You get what I mean?

HELL IN KJV
One Hebrew word “sheol” is rendered hell. Definition; hades or the world of the dead (as if a subterranian retreat), grave, hell, pit. Three Greek words are rendered hell; geenna, hades, and tartaroo. Definition of geenna; a valley of Jerusalem, used (figuratively) as a name for the place (or state) of everlasting punishment: - hell. Definition of hades; properly unseen, that is, “Hades” or the place (state) of departed souls: - grave, hell. Definition of tartaroo; (the deepest abyss of Hades); to incarcerate in eternal torment: - cast down to hell. Tartaroo is used only one place II Pet.2:4.
Christ teaching the Pharisees in Luke 16:19-31 shows us a separation from God is truly what hell is. The “water” is symbolic for God’s Spirit and love. The word “tormented” means distressed in the Greek, not torture. The “fire” is symbolic for the shame and desire not to be separated from God.
So all who die the first death of the flesh return to God Ecc.12:6-7, but on which side of the gulf do they end up?
Hell is not eternal but is done away with in Rev.20:14-15, called both the second death and lake of fire. This second death is non-existence, for death and hell and those not written in the book of life. This second death or lake of fire is like fat drippings that fall into the fire. Just a poof of smoke into non-existence.
Psa.37:20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
In my mind what’s worse yet is no memory of you, no tears will be shed for you like you never existed.
Rev.21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
So hell is a separation from God and is not eternal torture or burning. Eventually hell will be done away with or passed away and also some souls. Like fat drippings in the fire, a poof of smoke into non-existence, the second death.

Every religion has it's own hell- except for the Jews because they decide that they don't go to hell, in a way, they were very smart.
