I read a long time ago about veal. It does come from calves. I also read that they are kept in small areas so that they cannot move around too much. They don't want the meat to get too tough, ya know......I eat meat, and none of the butchering is very pretty. We, civilized people, have found ways to rationalize or look the other way so that we don't have to think about how that meat in the grocery store came to be there. It is a sad fact that in order for us to eat meat, some animal has to die. In the old days, people had to slaughter their own meat, now we conveniently have someone to do it for us so we can eat it without feeling guilty about slaughtering the poor things. I love animals, and I love meat. Old or young, it isn't pretty. But it's a fact of life and has to happen. Sorry folks, I will never be a vegetarian. And yes, I can and have slaughtered my own meat. Chicken, deer, rabbit. We never had any cattle, but I imagine I could do it if I had to. But like everything else, only what you need, life is too precious to be wasted needlessly.

Veal is a baby cow, I don't eat anything that ever had a face, and the idea of eating a baby animal, or any animal for that matter, is repugnant to me. Try some watermelon, or some tofu and vegetables, your body will appreciate it.

Veal
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Veal is the meat of calves, specifically the male offspring of dairy cattle, and is appreciated for its delicate taste, tender texture and nutritious qualities. Dairy cows must give birth annually to continue producing milk naturally, but male dairy calves are of little value to dairy farmers except as meat. Veal is often associated with Italian, French, and German cuisines, as well as cuisines of other middle-European countries. North American consumers tend to prepare veal, for a delicious snack.
