The price for any sin, no matter how small, is death. In that way they're all the same, I suppose. If you tell a single lie, you're just as much under a death sentence as if you murdered sombody. But however that might be, Jesus paid that price on your behalf, so you wouldn't have to. You're judged in the eyes of God to be as clean and pure as if you never sinned at all. So is a murderer who repents of his actions. That's His free gift, to anyone who will reach out and take it. God's holiness is infinite, and that's why He can't tolerate even the least sin. . . but His mercy and love are also infinite, and that's why He came down and washed you clean, so you need never be separated from Him any more.

Yes and no. All sins separate you from God. If you have committed only ONE sin (if you have ever lied, for example) you cannot go to heaven without Jesus. You have separated yourself from God and condemned yourself to hell at that point, and need Jesus as your savior. So, in that sense, all sin is the same in God's eyes.
However, some sins ARE mentioned as being worse than others. This means that such sins will have worse consequences. Obviously murdering the mother of four is more severe than lying to your wife about watching a television show she objects to. First of all there are greater consequences in this life, not just for the guilty party, but also for everyone effected by the actions. However, it also does seem that there will be worse consequences in hell, too. While the Bible does NOT support the idea of a Purgatory concept, id DOES support the idea of varying degrees of punishment. In this way, no, not all sins are the same in God's eyes. I hope that helps.

brilliant question. you're top. fortunately, no longer all Christians have fallen into the catch of believing that homosexuality is the worst sin ever. i trust that those "Christians" who considerable in "God Hates Fags" are insecure of their own masculinity. they opt to experience more desirable masculine through making somebody else look a lot less masculine. i'm effective the Jesus who rescued a woman stuck in adultery would have an similar compassion upon gays, even with if he disagreed with their practice. i do not understand of anyplace in the Bible that announces any sin in any respect is both as undesirable as the different sin. besides the indisputable fact that, there are places in the bible that mean that sin is sin, and also you may't imagine that your sin isn't as undesirable as somebody else's sin. (The gay bashers could do no longer overlook that!) in truth, some sins are worse than others in God's eyes. Jesus mentions an incident the position someone has committed "the more severe sin". Paul says there's a sin that finally ends up in lack of existence and a sin that would not carry about lack of existence. The Bible says that each and each man or woman have sinned and characteristic fallen short of God's glory. A parcel of little white lies received't be as undesirable as a parcel of murders, yet both will keep you out of heaven. If the movie prices $10 and that i have $8 and also you've $a million, who's attending to make sure the movie? Neither people! Sin is harm. A smashed cup is unquestionably damaged. in case you had a cup with a huge chip lacking from it, it will be useable, yet would you call it undamaged, and is it even one hundred% probability-free to apply? No.

Technically yes, all sins are the same in God's eyes.
While I believe the Bible for the most part, that is one thing I don't totally agree on. Like the example you gave, I don't see how a lie can be viewed as the same as murder or rape or something like that. I mean that's like saying if you're saved, you may as well choose to go out and commit a serious crime instead of lying. I don't really see the logic. Perhaps I'm just not enough in tune with my faith to truly understand.

Yes. To God all sin is the same and he is not limited by our sin no matter how great it may seem. He will forgive a murderer just like he will forgive a lier.
I would encourage you to go look at the Bible for yourself and find the verse that says this.

The word Jesus uses for sin in the New Testament is a greek term, "harmatia", which is an archery term that means "to miss the mark." (Make a mistake, aim wrong)
So God sees our sins not as acts of deliberate bad behavior but mistakes. We all make mistakes, God knows that we are not perfect and forgives. It is more important to God WHY we do something, from the inside, than what we do. People can be driven to lie, steal, cheat, and even murder because they do not see any other alternative. God knows that better than anyone.
(Read the parable of the Prodigal Son)

Yes, to God sin is sin....no matter what. People think that it's all different stages, but it's all the same because either way YOU have commited sin. Now yours may not be as big as someone else's though.
God Bless!!

All sin is the same insofar as if we commit any sin, we are separated from God for eternity. That's why Jesus Christ died, to pay the penalty for our sins.
There are some sins, however, that God seems to really hate because He mentions them by name. "If anyone harms children it would be better if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were drowned than to face God". (I am soooooo paraphrasing this).
So, yes, your friend is right. Sin is sin. It's reward is death. No matter what the sin is.
That's why I'm so greatful to God that His plan for our salvation was put into place before we were even created.

When you sin you miss the mark of perfection. Everyone sins and it is bad in God's eyes. But If we ask forgivenss and are truly repentant we will be forgiven. But we still have to deal with the consequences of our actions. So if you murder someone and you are TRULY sorry you will be foregiven by God, but you may still get the death penalty or go to prison for a long time.

Yes. No matter how big or small. when you ask God to forgive you for your sins you dont have to do anything special for one of the sins you just have to ask from your heart. Only in peoples eyes would this be different but God is merciful and forgives.
