No, it's doesn't become a virus, If you get too annoyed by it just uninstall it. Try PC-Cillin, its less annoying.

Try downloading another antivirus software and run it if there is a problem with Norton it will get rid of it. Most likely Norton isn't the problem. Reinstall and set the destination point for a portable storage device. Delete it off your compuetr and then see if the pop up come back . If they do Norton is not the problem. But if they don't delete Norton all together.

norton is not a virus. it can not turn into one. computer viruses are ever changing. depending on what type of virus you have. if u do nto update the software regularly it might not work on newer virus.

Download Windows Defender http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx
AVG Anti-Virus (it's 100% free, and it can auto-update) http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5 (at the bottom)

Norton is a resource hog that gets into virtually every aspect of your computer. McAfee, too.

No.

When you wear a condom you can still get infected. (It's not a 100% protection)

With an Antivirus it's the same thing.

No. It sometimes can cause more pain than a virus, but none-the-less, can't BECOME a virus.
