Note that I'm not suggesting each must make a 100 on every assignment / test.

It seems to me that if a student is, indeed, a Christian (by choice, of course), then that student's Christianity would be (without question) demonstrated through his/her attitude towards school performance -- not that he / she would, inevitably, make a 100 on everything, but that he / she would, certainly, apply diligence.

Just because someone is a Christian does not mean that they will be perfect or a good goody all the time. Or that they will be more caring about their school work performance. That comes from somones maturity and character.
I do think though that if someone is a Christian, they should really work hard and put a lot of effort into their schhol work as if they were doing it unto the Lord. But i do not think that just because someone is a Christian, they'll care more their school work performance. Also you need to realize that some poeple are not very academic and struggle in school no matter how much they care and try. Not everyone is wired the same...so please do not think that some Christian who is failing miserably in their school work simply does not care.
I'm not really sure where you are getting this whole idea.

You might think so, but I would guess that some Christian students don't value their "worldly" education as much as they value their "spiritual" education. Some people actually think that having too much education will separate them from God.
Of course, some people also value hard work (including study) and believe God would want us to try our best in school.

Yes. The Bible says, "No matter what you do, whether in word or deed, do it all for the glory of God."
As for Christians, excellence should be the standard NOT the exception.

No. There's no super caring chip installed in their brain during baptism. It's a matter of individual choice, not religious.
