People can be so cruel, I wonder, have these people (who answer on here) with the most unsympathetic answers ever had a negative thing said to them in their lives? Have they ever been made fun of and know what it feels like? Have they ever been put down, or embarrased because of something completely out of their control, or are they just simply ignorant of how they act. Maybe in order to be sympatheic to another human being you have to suffer and maybe these answerers have never suffered, but really, i don't see how a person could never have experienced emotional pain. I just wonder how many people are going to be cruel answering this question, I just thought I would write these thoughts down.

I agree with you 100%. Some of the answers I have received and read are horrendous. I just cannot believe how some of these people on here think. I don't get off on being mean, being a jerk or insulting other people so it is difficult for me to understand. I guess it goes to show how ignorant some people really are. I guess we just have to overlook them and feel sorry for them. They obviously have no life. I guarantee you they probably do not act like "bad *sses" in reality. It is easy for them to hide behind their computers anonymously. At least there are people on here who use this forum for what it was created for, to be fun and informative. Just ignore all the dummies. :)

I agree completely. Why would people even bother posting when they know they aren't being helpful or serious? I had a nasty post to one question I put up that was from the heart, and it really kinda sucked. I have no idea what would possess these people to sit down and waste their time writing stupid comments that they know will just make the person writing the question upset or angry or sad. Do they sit there and laugh as they're doing it? Or are they really just bored out of their mind? I think some people are just socially inept too and dont think before posting. Like they think people will read it and find it clever or funny when it's really offensive. I wish they'd just find something better to do with their time and leave the answers to people who are serious.

The most negative response I have ever given was to a young mother who was considering divorce. She gave a lot of detail. My answer probably sounded cruel to her, but I wrote it because I felt very, very sorry for her family and their situation. I wanted to give her a "wake-up" call ! I wanted to jolt her out of her skin, to make her think ! I would not have responded to her at all if I had not been able to speak from education through experience.
If people only responded with sweet, rosy answers all of the time, YA would not be an honest forum.
People are individualistic. Some Answerers are very young, some are very religious, some are very smart, etc. If you want an honest opinion, ask a question on YA. If you want sympathy only, go to a chat room.
Please be kind to people, Lynda, and accept them unconditionally. What may appear to be ugly may actually be beautiful (Beauty and the Beast). Good luck !

I had that thought go through me at first, but after you have been on here for awhile you learn that certain people love to ask questions that are stupid just to take up your time when there may be a question that needs a real answer. Some are just immature and love to come on here and be mean, I try to ignore them and just go on. Hope that helps!

I think the reason most people are mean to other people is because they are so insecure about themselves so they put other people down to make themselves feel better. I always felt that, you treat people the way you want to be treated. Life is too short to live with so much hatred.

I agree with g - people who enjoy being mean and nasty (like Tay) are insecure and it makes them feel powerful to be like that especially in a safe environment like this where no one can challenge them or call them on their bad behaviour. This forum can be an outlet for angry people.

Usually, as you probably have been told in your earlier years of life that people that treat others like crap are dealing with issues that they may not know how to handle.
