Before you post and say " take him to a doctor ", I did that already today. I am just looking for an opinion or an experience someone may have had with the same thing. My son woke up this morning with a HUGE knob/lump on the back of his head. He is 2 yrs. old. He said his head hurt and I took him immediately to the doctor who said it appears to be some terrible reaction to a bug bite of some sort. They checked his eyes (looking for brain hemorrage type of thing) and felt confident it was from a bug bite or sting. He is acting totally normal. It just seems really odd that a bug bite or sting, that he didn't even cry over could cause such a huge knob on the back of his head. Does anyone have any opinions on this?

I gave him motrin and benedryl to try and see if some of the huge lump would go down in swelling, so far nothing has made a difference at all.

Try making a paste from water and baking soda, and that will draw out ANY kind of stuff from inside the bite, plus it wont hurt him at all.

My 2 oldest kids get these types of reactions from misquito bites. I rub a generous amount of lanicane on the bump at night and leave it soak in all night long and by morning the swelling goes down.. Also, nothing Ice can't cure when it comes to swelling.

This may sound really weird but chew or wet some tobbaco and get it sticky and put it on the bite it will pull the poison out of the bite or sting. This works on any sting or insect bite. I do not know if it helps a spider bite.

first off give the meds a chance to work .....sometimes spiders can cause a reaction in little ones and some bug bites are fairly painless relax you took the right steps let the meds work
