I'm in Singapore and would like to know how to bury my pet dog with a little dignity. He's not dead yet but the end does look very near.

Your back yard or a pet cemetary

If you have a garden/backyard you can bury him there. Otherwise, some of the vets will perform a creamation for you with the option of whether or not you want to bring back the ashes. In fact I seem to recall pet graves at mount alvernia (pet hospital) as well.

Perhaps you can discuss this with a local cementary. I live in the states and some cementaries have a special designated area for pets. Talk to your vet, you may be able to have him cremated and keep his ashes, if that's an option you would consider. If all else fails, check your city ordinances. If there is no law against it, bury him in your backyard. Best of luck! (If you do lose him, remember that all pets go to Rainbow Bridge, where they frolick until you are re-united with them.)

I would personally cremate my pet and bury the ashes as wild life will find the body if it is not buried at least 6 feet under.Professional knowledge and that is what I am doing with my pet.

Well I guess that would all depend on the size of your pet. For example, I used to have a pet elephant that died from suffication due to a small rodent crawling up his trunk. It was a very sad time. My dad suggested we cremate him but I didn't want to be separated from Jumbo. So one day when my dad was at work I had a bunch of friends help me load Jumbo's rotting carcass into our empty swimming pool. We then filled the rest of the pool with dirt and covered it with sod. It wasn't until the following summer when my dad discovered we no longer had a pool. There is now a big cherry tree right where Jumbo is burried. Because its well fertilzied it yields a great amount of fruit. We have named the tree Jumbo II - fondly after our pet.

I'm very sorry about your dog. Last year I burried my cat, one I had for 17 years. I remembered I still had the little yellow blanket I brought him home in and wrapped him in that when I burried him in my flower bed, next to my bedroom. In his grave, I put a poem about how special he was to me, a lock of my hair and a lock of my other cats hair, his favorite cookies and a toy he had since he was a baby. I covered him with a piece of plastic and replaced the dirt. I then placed a planter on top of the grave (it was in the shape of a beautiful cat).

For specifics; I would dig the grave as deep as possible, put some plastic down and place your dog on the plastic and cover him with it, then replace the dirt. This way, animals won't be tempted to disturb the grave. Put his toys, maybe something of yours, perhaps a picture of you and your dog.

Make the time together special, tell him how much you love him and what a wonderful addition he was to your life. You will meet again someday.

In the United States people Generally bury their pets in their own yards, sometimes with a gravestone, sometimes without. Though, my cousin had her cat cremated and saved the ashes.

I do not know what the laws are there in Singapore, but i would bury it in my yard and make it a nice grave site.

We have always buried out pets in our back yard. Then planted flowers where they rest. ( this may sound abit morbid, but make sure you dig a deep enough hole so other critters won't dig him/her up. And I would NOT wrap them in plastic, we always laid them on a blanket, easier to decompose then plastic.) You can then look at the beautiful flowers and have good memories of them. ( My husband would ask me "have you watered Alex today?" )Meaning watered the flowers, but our own little saying to releave some of the sorrow.

there are companies that will cremate your dog and give you the remains. The most popular place to bury your pet is the backyard.
